In 2005, a recall was made by Jumpking Inc. Welds on their trampolines were coming apart, which were causing serious injuries. Mounting brackets from the separately purchased "FunRing" were coming off which were causing serious lacerations. More than 40 complaints were made and out of those 40, 21 had serious injuries to their head, neck, and back. Make sure when buying a trampoline to check out the product carefully and if you can, research the credentials of the manufacturer.

The Jumpking trampoline was manufactured both in the United States and China and was sold in the United States and Canada from July 1999 through December 2003. They were sold at discount department stores nationwide at prices ranging from $350 to $450
On January 25, 2005, a voluntary recall was made by Jumpking Inc of about one million trampolines and about 296,000 "FunRing" enclosures which were sold separately. Welds on the Jumpking Trampoline could easily break during usage causing serious injuries; also the mounting brackets of the FunRing enclosures were very sharp, which could cause lacerations. The company's recall included 14-foot and 15-foot Jumpking trampoline sold both without and with FunRing enclosures. Some enclosures were sold separately from the trampolines.
Approximately 47 complaints were received of one or more welds breaking on these trampolines causing various injuries to 21 people including a concussion; among other injuries there were head, neck and back injuries; broken arms; sprains; lacerations and bruises. The company also received an additional 12 complaints in which children came in contact with the sharp edges of the enclosure brackets causing serious lacerations. Consumers were warned publicly to stop using any Jumpking trampoline as soon as possible to avoid any serious injuries.
